Cooperation with mind and heart

My name is Katja Koskinen and I am a candidate in the municipal elections in Oulu and in the wellbeing services county of North Ostrobothnia. I am a 51-year-old financial and HR manager. I’m Master of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration and a vocational teacher. I also have a principal's qualification.

I was born in Vöyri, Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia.  My mother tongue is Swedish, and I also speak Finnish and English fluently. In addition to the above, I understand Norwegian, Danish and German. I've even sometimes studied the basics of sign language and Spanish. I have lived in Oulu for over 20 years.

I think it is important in politics not to make promises that cannot be kept. There are things that I want to promote and do everything I can to ensure that Oulu as a city and the wellbeing county of North Ostrobothnia will develop and be financially balanced. For me, the most important value is to remember why I am elected to the council.  I am there to promote the interests of everyone who lives here, not my own interests or only those who voted for me. But for the benefit of every resident of Oulu and  in the area of wellbeing county here in Northern Ostrobothnia. Everyone, regardless of age, gender, skin color, financial or health situation, party background, neighbourghood, religion or non-religion. Oulu is a city for all of us who live here as is the wellbeing county of Norhern Osthrobothnia. Without the residents, there would not be companies, organizations, associations, workplaces, schools, daycare centers, services for the elderly, etc.

Oulu and this area, which we all share, needs new responsibility bearers and change to make Oulu and the region attractive in the future as well.

My key themes in the elections are cooperation, young people, schools and education, and good & balanced economy. I’m doing everything I can to be a candidate who you can trust your vote to.
